The Hussite Rock (545 m above sea level) - is an impressive granite rock with 20 m high cliffs. Although we are on a 20 m high rocky outcrop, trees obscure the view of the Jelenia Góra valley, but Sokolik Duży presents itself in all its glory.
The name "Hussite Rock" is connected with the events that took place in the nearby Sokolec Góra castle on the night of 11-12 August 1434. The Hussites, fleeing from the burning fortress, got lost here and fell on horseback straight into the abyss.

Sokolec Castle Ruins

Great climbing area. Famous Polish Himalayan climbers started their adventure with the highest mountains in the world here. In the Schweizerhaus I got accommodation in a room for 20 people with bunk beds without any problems and without booking. Very spartan but great. 👍
