Highlight • Structure

We couldn't find the trulli house. It seemed like something might be behind a wall on private property.

Porto Selvaggio Bay

Highlight • Beach

The center of the nature park is the small gravel and pebble beach which attracts many tourists every year. The sea is crystal clear and bordered by a low cliff on both sides. The particularity of this beach is also given by a current of cold fresh water that reaches directly into the bay. Today the park consists of over 1000 hectares of land and is waiting to be discovered.

The Torre dell'Alto, or more precisely of Santa Maria dell'Alto, is a lookout tower built in 1569, it communicated to the north with Torre Uluzzo and to the south with Torre Santa Caterina. It was built by the Neretine architect Angelo Spalletta at the request of Philip II, son of Charles V, who wanted it to be built in order to fortify the coast. The tower, characterized by a height of 14 m, stands on a rocky spur about 50 m above sea level. This spike is called "Goat Jump". From the slopes of the tower you can see a truly breathtaking view.
