11% Steep

Highlight • Other

Here is a particularly steep part of the Ventoux.

Very fast descent in the first part with its long straight lines and its steep slope.

The second part through the forest is more winding while remaining fast if you know how to negotiate the turns well.

We did the bike tour in the fall. Because of the wind on Mont Ventoux, it felt even colder than the actual temperature. So, be sure to pack warm clothes; maybe even change your clothes at the summit. It didn't get any warmer during the descent ;). We would have liked to have brought warm gloves. Overall: fantastic!

Chalet Reynard to Mont Ventoux Summit

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

The last six kilometers after Chalet Reynard are the most legendary. The view is simply magnificent with its lunar landscape.

Chalet Reynard

Highlight • Restaurant

Chalet Reynard is one of those essentials when you cycle up this mythical mountain. Many people stop at the chalet, in order to comfort themselves around a drink, or a meal before the final ascent of the last six kilometers which leads to the summit.

The last 6 kilometers demand everything, wind gusts and constantly steep ascents.

Pass of Storms

Highlight • Mountain Pass

The storm pass is one of the last bends of the final ascent. We discover a magnificent view and very close is the memorial dedicated to Tom Simpson who died July 13, 1967 during the Tour de France of that year.

With Colin first thing in the morning. The a11% part is really very difficult. Hurts everywhere but I did it 😜!!!!!

Mont Ventoux the second....😉
Went up from Malaucene with my sister today.
Find the climb much harder than Sault.
But it's just as fun when you get to the top....😁
I hope that someday I'll get the chance to drive up from Bedoin again....
