Adige Cycle Path near Bolzano

Highlight • Cycleway

The cycle path is very beautiful and it is very idyllic to cycle past the many apple trees between the mountains. It's great to get to Meran. Great that there is this bike path.
In the dark, however, it is unfortunately not illuminated, which is not a problem if you have good light yourself. However, I would not recommend driving here without light or with only sparse light, as it goes downhill right next to the cycle path, which means that there is a risk of accidents in poor visibility.

So be sure to think of lights if it is possible to be on the road longer and only drive back when it is dark!

Tunnel on the Überetsch Railway Cycle Path

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

For those who normally only cycle over bridges, the tunnel ride is a real highlight. It's great that these routes have been prepared for cyclists. This tunnel was developed as part of the conversion of an old railway line into a cycle path. The route is one of the most popular cycle paths in the region, as it offers a picturesque and safe connection through the Überetsch area.

Cycle path Überetsch: Bolzano - Eppan - Caldaro
The cycle route connects the city of Bozen with the wine-growing region between Eppan and Caldaro and with Lake Caldaro
From Bozen, the route leads south along the Eisack to the junction "Meran - Eppan". Here the path follows the Etsch a few km to the north, then it goes to Eppan/Kaltern over a half-timbered bridge. Here, below Sigmundskron Castle, the path begins to climb slightly.
The Überetsch railway used to run at this point. The bike path winds up through the wine country between Cornaiano and Frangarto, passes through a few tunnels and finally, after an underpass, reaches St. Michael. From the former St. Michael Eppan train station, continue southwards, the path runs parallel to the road to the "Kreuzweg" settlement.

Vineyard Pathway in Frühlingstal

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

The Valley of Spring is a botanical landmark. Its geographical name is Fabióntal. Because the valley is sheltered from the wind and bathed in sunshine, spring begins a little earlier here than elsewhere.

A very varied section of the route, running along well-maintained bike paths. Here, you can relax and enjoy the views and beautiful scenery. The tour is worth it!

April 4, 2024,Kalterer See Runde von Terlan
In Terlan we set off towards Lake Kaltern. The municipality of Terlan is the main growing area for South Tyrolean asparagus in South Tyrol and at the same time there is also very good white wine in this municipality! We cycle past the asparagus fields and orchards and reach the wine village of St. Pauls via a small incline. When …

Just a little extra to a beautiful campsite on a lake

The railway cycle path towards Merano is rather boring to ride. There is very little happening along the route. On the other hand, the path from Nals to St. Pauls is very beautiful. The highlight is the Café Peter Paul.
