Grand Bouillac Dolmen

Also called "Palet de Gargantua". The hazardous restoration carried out between 1901 and 1905 does not make it possible to specify the type of dolmen to which this specimen is related. According to writings dating from 1862, it was accompanied by three overturned menhirs about 50 m south and east of the dolmen. Two of them were straightened for a while then they fell a little later before disappearing in the 1969 land consolidation.
According to tradition, the dolmen is a puck of Gargantua that fell here while the giant was playing skittles over the Bouillac valley.
The dolmen is said to hide a set of golden balls which in vain fueled the greed of treasure seekers at the beginning of the 20th century.
