Ramolhaus

The hut is staffed from the end of June to the end of September. There are 18 beds, 34 places in the dormitory and 6 in the winter room (key in Hotel Edelweiss & Gurgl).

The Ramolhaus offers a fantastic view of the Gurgeler Ferner and other glaciers as well as several 3000's. The way from Obergurgl is quite easy but steadily increasing and only the last 200 meters of altitude demand a lot. A great round is also the way over the Schönwieshütte (newly built since 2015) and the Langtalereckhütte. Then continue in the direction of Hochwildehaus (not open) and about half way to the right turn towards Gurgeler Ferner. This can be crossed relatively easily in the lower dead ice area. On the other side again ascent to the Ramolhaus or just below also branch towards Obergurgl. Total time about 8 hours and about 1400 meters, length approximately 21 km.
