Quais de Seine in Rouen

Highlight • River

The Seine flows through the city of Rouen, cutting the city in two. On both banks, the quays are very well laid out. On the right bank, you can admire the numerous boats moored there and enjoy the terraces set up in old hangars. The walk is very popular with Rouennais.es.

Jumièges Abbey is often called the "most beautiful ruin in France". Indeed, its white towers almost 50 meters high are impressive.

The old Benedictine monastery was built at the end of the 8th century and destroyed in the 19th century. It is of archaeological as well as tourist interest.

But from the first translation with the ferry to La Bouille at km 20 it becomes fantastic. It goes past magnificent houses, small châteaux. At km 30 we …

Today, fewer altitude meters, but the highlight for us were the ruins of the Abbey of Jumièges.
The way into Rouen through industrial areas was not so nice, but between factory halls, silos and the like, there were isolated beautiful villas or old manor houses that deserved a better neighborhood.
