Access to the trailhead has been limited and it is rather difficult to get a slot for arriving by car (shuttle bus is then the option).
According to the park administration cancelations will be fed to the booking system in the morning between 7 and 8. Had no luck there, but tried at 10 and was successful. Would therefore recommend …
fantastic hike along the coast and then up the Hanakapi Ai valley up to the waterfall. Some slippin'and slidin on rocks and in muddy sections, especially after rain fell. The swimming in the natural pool the waterfall caved out of the rock definitely makes it worth!

Great tour. It's better to set off early to have enough time to swim at the waterfall. It goes without saying that you should take enough water with you. It's best to book a bus ride to the park. At the beginning/end of the tour you can also go to the beach/the sea.

This was one of the most challenging hikes I've taken so far. It's rocks and roots and 28°C. Patagonia with 15kg photography equipment was less exhausting.
