Another area that offers great views, I enjoyed the peace of being the only person there after staring the hike really early

Millstones on Curbar Edge

Highlight • Natural Monument

Some of many millstones to be found along the Peak District's gritstone edges, remnants of the area's industrial past when these huge stones were quarries and shaped here for export.

Once famous for millstones, now known as great places to rock climb.

View from Curbar Edge

This is a lovely and fairly easy walk. My tip, when you reach the bog, you'll know when, don't follow the Komoot crossing point. Move 25 yards to the right to cross and that way you'll keep your feet dry.

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Great spot to look over the valley below and take in the view. Even when the valley is full of mist it still makes a good picture.

Curbar Gap Car Park

Highlight • Parking

Decent size car park with access to some great walks along Froggatt Edge and White Edge among others but does get very busy so best to turn up early on the weekends!

July 4, 2024,A Very Windy Curbar & Froggatt Edge
A very windy time on the edges today. Hubbie can't walk far or cope with inclines due to sciatica. So, Baslow, Curbar & Froggatt edges are ideal from Curbar Gap Car Park. No steep inclines to reach amazing views, and he can walk as little or as far as his back allows. He didn't like the wind though 🤣🤣
