Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

The Valle Isarco cycle path is a super cycle path built on the old site of the former railway. It includes galleries and industrial archaeological finds such as old stations.

At this point, you can cycle along both sides of the Eisack. It is also ideal for quickly getting to the old town of Brixen or to the network of cycle paths in the Eisack Valley.

Old railway tunnel on the bike path from Brixen to Boden, a welcome cool down, especially in summer.

Great route on the old disused railway line. Some old discarded train stations can still be found.

For those who normally only drive over bridges, these tunnels in the region are a real highlight. A little change and nice and cool in the summer.

Although it's not all downhill - 400 m is exactly that - it still feels that way. I swing through the wonderful Alpine panorama, with fresh autumn temperatures in the morning, which soon turn into wonderful summer weather. It's not for nothing that South Tyrol is very popular with tourists, especially my parents' generation and before. Young people are vacationing …

At the beginning it was undulating with very short but tough climbs. After that we hardly needed any battery.
A great tour!

Lots of shade today and hardly found a sunny spot for lunch 🤣

We went by train and bikes from Sigmundskron via Bozen to Sterzing.
Per person for 17, - including bike.
From Sterzing there is a great bike path to Bolzano and Kaltern.
The first kilometers also uphill.
Then constantly downhill with a tail wind 😘

The Eisacktal cycle path is certainly worth seeing in terms of scenery. 90% of it can be done on a racing bike and there is little rolling resistance. However, as in many valleys, it is very noisy with the motorway, country road, railway and river. What bothered me most was the constant noise from Bozen to Brixen.

By 🌞Schein we left the Adige Cycle Path in Bolzano today and cycled along the Eisack. It often went along the Autobahn or the federal highway, which isn't that thrilling. In Brixen we visited the ⛪️ cathedral cloister, then stopped in the 🍻 beer garden and slowed down.

A very nice relaxed tour on great bike paths. An absolute highlight is Claussen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
