August 30, 2025,04 - Rinteln - Petershagen (JH)
A short tour today. Campsites are becoming scarce, and the youth hostel in Petershagen had a room available...that's how the stage unfolded. With a stroll and breakfast in Rinteln, sightseeing at the Schachtschleuse lock near Minden, a beer garden break, and shopping in Petershagen. We rode against the wind until Porta Westfalica, after which it pushed us.
Various things are …

A very nice tour along the Weser. There is a lot to see.

On today's stage, the weather also played along and the beautiful beginning in the historic old town of Rinteln, as well as the impressive water cross in Minden towards the end, gave us a perfect day of cycling.
The countless beautiful views, the constant movement along the Weser, small breaks in nice little places, this tour is just good!

Rain was forecast for the afternoon, so we wanted to start early. We managed that, but the rain came three hours earlier. At least it was manageable drizzle at first and there were enough covered rest areas. We had our first rest stop just after Uffeln. Before that, there was a first diversion in Eisbergen, which was well signposted, however. …

The third day is now over. The highlight was definitely the section through the Porta Westfalica. Before we went to a cafe at the bistro campsite Sonnenwiese. Very, very nice landlady. Battery charging for my wife's Ebike included.
A Weser crossing on the bike path together with the A2.
Riding a bike on the Autobahn... Very interesting today.

Third day, one more beautiful than the next. The kilometers just fly by. A very beautiful section of the Weser cycle path. Easy to ride with many places to stop for a break. If you take your time and look around, you will find wonderful rest areas.
