Quisa Cycle Path

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

The Quisa cycle path is a suggestive stretch of cycle path that winds entirely through a coniferous forest close to the homonymous Quisa stream. Ideal for those wishing to lengthen the best-known Brembana cycle path as they are interconnected.

Former Convent of Santa Maria in Valmarina

Highlight • Historical Site

The ancient monastery is located in the small valley, called Valmarina, towards the Ramera area in the municipality of Bergamo and is characterized by a suggestive landscape made up of lawn terraces and cultivated fields.
The former monastery was recently restored and is now the new headquarters of the Parco dei Colli di Bergamo.
From the 15th century, when the nuns were moved within the walls for safety reasons, the building was used exclusively for rural purposes. The internal structures consequently undergo heavy modifications and variations.
The complex (including church, refectory, chapter hall) is however very beautiful, especially on its east side which has, incorporated into the northern corner, what remains of the primitive Romanesque church.
A small sandstone wall is embellished with two very elegant single-lancet windows and two oculi are placed above.
