Vacqueyras

Highlight • Settlement

The origin of this house is not known, but it was certainly rebuilt in the 16th century, as it still has a tower with cannons and a vaulted room

What surprises you first when you drive through the countryside around Beaumes-de-Venise is the red color of the land. The village is indeed known for the quality of its wine, and this nutrient-rich land must have something to do with it. The village is charming and the nature around it is just as charming.

From the center of the village, you have a very beautiful view of the Dentelles massif which is nearby. It offers shaded square, fountain, café, restaurant, bicycle shop, and two bakeries, as well as many other services.

From the village, and from the Col de Suzette, you will have both a splendid view of the Mont-Ventoux, as well as the remarkable Dentelles de Montmirail (a very beautiful geological formation which attracts many people due to its beauty). The village is also very pleasant, and I encourage you to make a stop there.

Fantastic view of the Dentelles de Montmirail from the Suzette road. Take a short break here to admire the spectacular landscape, between rocks, forests and vineyards.

Vaison-la-Romaine Roman Bridge

Highlight • Bridge

Vaison-la-Romaine is a town nestled in the heart of the Vaucluse region. It is renowned for its rich historical and cultural heritage, especially its ancient Roman roots.

The town is divided into two distinct areas: the upper town, perched on a hill and crowned by a medieval castle, and the lower town.

Garden of the Nine Damsels

Highlight • Natural Monument

The Garden of the 9 Damoiselles is a kind of great millstone of the universe, looking both backwards and forwards. It symbolizes the universal analogy that determines the diverse states of being in the opposite direction.

Sablet is worth a visit if you are cycling along it. 😍 It is not very big, but has pretty little houses.

September 26, 2022,Vaucluse au Mistral 2022: Runde Vaison - Beaumes-de-Venise
From Beaumes-de-Venise it was a tough fight against the mistral. The raspberry tarts in Sablet were great. We saw the Dentelles all around.

From Vaison via Malaucène to Suzette (almost alone on the road), nice descent to Beaumes-de-Veinise, then on side roads to Sablet back to where you deserved it. Pelforth in Vaison. C'est en September.
