Giuseppe Rumor Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

The Rumor Refuge is located at 1,748 meters above sea level and offers, among other things, excellent homemade desserts. It is an excellent base for excursions or MTB tours towards Mount Toraro, Mount Campomolon and others. In winter it organizes beautiful snowshoe excursions on weekends.

Forte Cherle

Highlight • Historical Site

It was built between 1910 and 1913 on the hill of the same name, at an altitude of 1445 m.

In order not to confuse it with the strong Busa Verle, the Austrians called it Werk Sebastiano, taking its name from the village located on the opposite side of the valley.

It had four 10 cm howitzers in an armored dome, two 10 cm howitzers in a casemate and 18 machine gun emplacements.

Together with the fort Belvedere Gschwent it controlled the upper stretch of the Val d’Astico and barred access to the Florentines area.

It suffered heavy bombing but was not directly attacked.

In 1936 the coverage was reduced by the recovery workers to a pile of ruins. Some internal passages can be visited.

On the roof, a suggestive panoramic point allows a wide view of Lavarone and Luserna, up to and beyond Cima Vézzena.
