Trails follow parts of Pismo Creek through Ira Lease Park and on the other side a trail bridge crosses the creek from Mary Herrington Park. Probably the safest way to get from the RV resort area to the beach trails.

Butterfly Grove

Highlight • Natural Monument

Traveling hundreds of miles Monarch Butterflies come from the Sierra Nevada and even Canada via the Central Valley to overwinter between October and April at the coast. They only eat milkweed but seem to like hanging in certain Eucalyptus groves. During that season there are volunteers at this grove, mostly on weekends, with telescopes and information to show and explain the amazing natural phenomenon.
