Lovely Dale, surprisingly little evidence of people walking through. Typical slippery limestone so good boots required. It is surprisingly slow going due to numerous head and waist height tree fall blockages.

Walked today with Mark and Ian. First half of was fine. Second half we found treacherous! Slippy underfoot, scrambling over large boulders of rock,and climbing over and under fallen trees. Probably the worst walk we've ever encountered. Needless to say we will never do it again.

Tough going on the monks dale section. Lots of slippy boulders and fallen trees to negotiate. We were doing the walk after a prolonged period of wet weather which made it trickier.
