Little Petherick Creek Bridge and View of Padstow

Highlight • Cycleway

An Iron Bridge spans the gap over Little Petherick Creek and gives a glimpse into the Camel Trail's past as a railway line.

The railway opened in 1899 with this bridge being the final piece of the puzzle connecting Wadebridge and Padstow. The trail over the bridge has been updated to accommodate cyclists and walkers from its original narrow wooden path.

This section of the Camel Trail between Wadebridge and Padstow is 5.5 miles long and can be ridden in either direction. The views of the Camel Estuary are fantastic.

The trail follows a disused railway line and in it's entirety is 17 miles long from Padstow to Wenfordbridge. It is a shared used path with walkers, cyclists and horse riders and is largely flat.

The Camel Trail

Highlight • Cycleway

The Camel Trail is a disused railway line between the Atlantic Ocean and Bodmin Moor. Following the Camel River, its lovely and flat so is an ideal running trail if you prefer to run on something steadier than the hilly cornish coastline.

You can run from Wadebridge to Padstow or for a shorter round trip along this section to Bishop's Wood and back via Burlawn and Treraven.
