Nestled within Hensol Forest is Pysgodlyn Mawr, a designated SSSI site and owned by the Welsh Forestry Commission. Here you'll find a beautiful serene coarse fishing lake.

No Through Road

Highlight • Trail

I've explored this track, it's ridable on a gravel bike to within 400m of it's northern end, then it's over grown. This was in summer so maybe in winter or spring it's passable.

Café Velo

Highlight • Cafe

Great little café, very bike friendly. There's a load of bike locks hanging on the wall just inside the door that the owner provides to allow you to secure your bike outside - not that it's in a dodgy area anyway - situated in a quiet village square.
If there's cycling racing on TV, this is a great place to watch it with like minded folk.

St Quentin's Castle

Highlight • Castle

The marvellous St Quentin's Castle is perched on a hill overlooking the wonderful village of Llanblethian. It was built in the 14th century by English nobleman and military commander Gilbert de Clare.

The grounds are free to enter and feature two inside rooms and an upstairs to explore. The remains of the castle span backward into a huge area of green open space with a bench, the perfect spot for a picnic.
