A very pleasant little hamlet (no facilities) right off the beaten track. The path along the river if approaching via the path over High Rigg from Thwaite Bridge can be quite boggy in wet weather so it may be better to stick to the road into the village.

Mossdale Falls and Viaduct

Highlight • Bridge

Mossdale Viaduct was built in 1864 and carried the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway until it closed in 1972. Now disused, it seems to blend perfectly into the hilly area.

Near here, you will also find the lovely Mossdale Falls, near which I'd recommend sitting, resting for a while, and taking in the tranquillity.

Car Park in Yorkshire Dales National Park

Highlight • Parking

From the car park, walk into the village until you see the path marked on the sign on the left by a small bridge. The path goes through a series of small gaps in the field walls, past a few brick huts, and eventually bends to the right to catch up with the road. All you have to do is cross the interesting bridge. Good luck!
