I was quite surprised how nice this path is. From Pöcking it goes through a beautiful beech forest and again and again you can see something of Lake Starnberg. The Prinzenweg leads to Starnberg. In Starnberg the path leads past beautiful villas.

Lake Maisinger

Like many other lakes in the five-lake region, the Maisinger See was formed towards the end of the ice age due to the thrust of the Isar-Loisach glacier. Lake 1450 is mentioned for the first time in the Salbuch of the regional court in Pähl: item of Lake Mawsingen belongs to Starnbergk. This shows that the lake was subordinate to the Starnberg box office and was therefore owned by the Bavarian sovereign. In 1602, on the other hand, the water must have belonged to the possessions of the Dießen monastery, because according to the records there, the provost of the monastery had leased it to the Seehieter zu Meising. For reasons unknown until now, the lake became the property of the sovereign again in the 17th century, since the seamen paid their taxes to the Starnberg box office from 1642 at the latest. The fish-rich waters passed into private ownership in 1866. Bartl, a miller from Maisingen, bought the lake at an auction of state goods.
