The long and sandy beach at North Bay feels much wilder than the more commercialised South Bay area. With clean water to bathe in, the beach has rocky outcrops at the north end which become cut off at high tide. The southern end has a wide expanse of inviting sand. The beach, which has been awarded Blue Flag status, is dominated by the picturesque ruins of 11th century Scarborough Castle.

Peasholm Park — Lake and Pagoda

Peasholm Park is a serene public space within a natural glen. A stream runs through the park which culminates in a lake. Even during the busy summer months the park is quiet and peaceful. Peasholm has an oriental theme and is home to lots of rare trees and flowers. It is free to enter.

"The Newcastle packet is a must place to try if visiting Scarborough. It is one of Scarboroughs oldest public houses and also has the areas longest serving landlady Kath Duffy. You are always sure of a warm welcome with its historic features and log burning stove. Karaoke is on every weekend throughout the year and caters for holiday makers as well as locals. Live bands on during the holiday season every Friday and Saturday evening but be early if you require a seat.
