Paseo de los Curas

Highlight (Segment) • Cycleway

Right between the Parque de Málaga (botanical park in the middle of the city) and the Palmeral de las Sorpresas (port of Málaga), a good place to stop and rest for a while in the shade of the exotic plants. Paseo de los Curas has a lane for bikes and scooters. Arriving at Muelle Uno, on the right, you can see "El Cubo", a futuristic colored glass construction - it is the Pompidou Center of Malaga, museum of modern art.

La Farola of Málaga

Highlight • Monument

The lighthouse in Malaga, known as La Farola de Malaga, is an iconic landmark of the Andalusian port city. It is located at the port of Malaga and is one of the few lighthouses in Spain named in the feminine form. “Farola” means “The Lighthouse Woman”. La Farola was built in 1817 and has served as a landmark for ships heading to the port ever since. Over the years, the lighthouse has been modernized to meet the demands of modern shipping. It stands on the Paseo de la Farola, a popular promenade that runs along the port. In addition to its practical function, the Farola also has symbolic value and represents the maritime spirit of Malaga.

The lighthouse itself is about 38 meters high and has a very characteristic cylindrical shape, making it an unmistakable element of the Malaga skyline. Especially at sunset, the area around the lighthouse offers beautiful views of the sea and the city. A great destination for a tour in Malaga.

On this part, too, the bike path leads to the back of the beach on sand, partly also behind the beach parallel to the road. Here, too, the following applies: to ride the racing bike very well at a suitable speed. You can do it if you want to enjoy the sea. Otherwise it is not very varied.

Comments

June 8, 2025,Out-and-back coastal ride from Málaga to Torre del Mar
We had a great time with a steady tailwind on the way out — smooth and fast all the way!
As usual lately, the return came with a strong headwind, but we pushed through.
Accidentally saved and stopped the track early — full ride was 59 km
A flat route that runs along the coastal road toward Granada.

This road is ideal for enjoying the scenery of the "Costa Tropical" and each of the towns it passes through.

However, be careful with the wind forecast, as it can complicate your daily plans.
