Forest Trail in Cairngorms National Park

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

A very nice multi-activity path.

After climbing at the south west side of Aviemore, riding downhill and flatter sections, suddenly you are riding quicker and on the brakes loads. I found myself riding with energy and strength in this fast flowing section

Rothiemurchus Visitor Centre

Highlight • Parking

The Rothiemurchus Visitor Centre is your first point of entry into this exquisite Highland estate. You'll find all the information you need inside to make the most out of your visit as well as having the opportunity to book activities. There's a cafe onsite and a large car park from which you can set out on one of the many trails.

The forest and trails are free to use for cyclists and hikers and there's a charge to use the car park. Amongst the many activities on offer through the estate is a Highland cattle safari tour.

Rothiemurchus Forest Edge Path

Highlight (Segment) • Trail

Smooth double track follows the edge of Rothiemurchus Forest. Stunning views of the Cairngorm Munros lie ahead, framed by Scots Pines as you transition between the differing landscapes of woodland and upland. For those that prefer singletrack, there is a lovely section running parallel to the East.

Path to Loch Einich

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

This double track leads to Loch Einich, and is normally ridden as an 'out and back'. Despite starting in the popular Glenmore Forest, it has a superbly remote atmosphere. If you enjoy biking to bag Munros, Braeriach can be approached from the Allt Easan na Bruaich nearby.

Loch Einich

Highlight • Lake

Loch Einich sits at the head of Glen Eanaich. Surrounded by impressive Munros, it is normally ridden as an 'out and back'. Despite the lack of a good circular mountain bike journey, it is well worth the ride to enjoy the quiet scenery, and is surprisingly accessible with double track the entire way from Glenmore Forest. For the Munro Baggers, many hills can be walked from here.

A bit of pot luck passing the river on 37c gravel tyres but a good laugh and worth a try.
