With the inversion weather conditions, we're heading straight to the Rennsteig today. Forewarned (thanks to Radelkathrin) and of course with food in our backpacks. In November, things are looking bad in terms of restaurants. Gehlberghütte, Suhler Hütte, Schmücke - all closed. It's a shame, really, as so many hikers took advantage of the wonderful weather today.
