Furth Wayside Chapel

Highlight • Religious Site

Path chapel in the Furth district of the Oberhaching community. It is located on the south side of the M51 county road in a wood. It can be reached from Furth via the Kapellensteig, which leads around the wood and crosses the M51 north of the chapel via a covered wooden bridge. Originally the chapel was north of the M51. However, there she was endangered by a landslide. Therefore, it was rebuilt in 1951 south of the road.

Today's source of the Hachinger Bach lies between the districts of Deisenhofen and Oberhaching, where the Gleißental coming from the Deininger Weiher, which only carries groundwater but no surface water, becomes the Hachinger Tal. Over a length of about 100 m, the groundwater that escapes from the Haching barrier layer makes the ground more and more moist until a small stream has formed. Since the groundwater level fluctuates greatly, there is no clear source. To prevent the stream from falling completely dry, groundwater is pumped from a 4 meter deep well next to a park path and fed into the young stream bed with a pipe. The pump tube is clearly visible from the path.

Gleißental Climbing Area

Highlight • Climb

The Gleißental offers hikers and cyclists pure nature. Be it to observe birds, insects such as butterflies, but also frogs, snakes, dragonflies, and many more (on the small pond in front of the large reservoir). If you go off the beaten track (if you decide for yourself), you will surely discover something. Coming from Deisenhofen, past the water reservoir, about 1 km, there is a kind of quarry on the left. There are always celebrations and festivals instead. There it invites for experienced safe for climbing. Everyone should decide that for themselves.

Deininger Pond

Highlight • Lake

The Deininger Weiher is a beautifully situated moor lake in the south of Munich, near the village of Straßlach-Dingharting. It is located in a conservation area. Around the lake leads a beautiful circular route.
With only 1.80 m depth, it heats up quickly and is therefore also a popular bathing lake. However, the depth of vision is very low due to the dark brown color.
On the northern shore of the lake is the Waldhaus Deininger pond with a beautiful sun terrace overlooking the lake. Large parking available.

Waldhaus at Deininger Pond

Highlight • Restaurant

The natural moor lake is a relic of the last ice age. The melting water currents that arose as a result of the warming washed out what is now the Gleißental and left behind the shallow lake. This is embedded in a charming landscape, the landscape conservation area "Südliches Gleißental" in the communities of Dingharting and Oberbiberg. In the years 1976/77 it was desludged and leased by the recreation area association. The lake is followed by a reed belt and a moor area, both of which may not be entered. Today the lake is a popular recreation area and, with its wooded surroundings, an attractive area for jogging in the warm season.
