Lagoon beach ⛱️

Highlight • Beach

The lagoon becomes narrower toward the North. Still some sandy beach coves right along the Eurovelo1 bike route offer safe and warmer water to swim than across the peninsula on the ocean side, particularly useful early in the season.

The coastal Eurovelo 1 bike trail runs along the large protected estuary. Partially on dedicated trail separated from vehicle traffic, partially sharing the shoulder of the road. It's nicest going south to north to always be closest to the water.

Next to the historic fishing port of the small town of Torreira look for the museum with outdoor displays of several lovingly restored and colorfully painted wooden traditional fishing boats, directly along the CicloRia bike route

Cute fishing community on the extreme south end of the narrow sandy peninsula with great bike trails along the waterfront esplanade, dotted with small cafes and restaurants.

At the nothern border of the large Nature Reserve are a couple of traditional lagoon fishing board docks, right across from the entrance to the big campground

My first tour where the way there and back are almost identical. Due to the ebb and flow, these were two very different experiences. Very little traffic behind the bridge, a wonderfully quiet tour.
