In the years 1972–1981, the Se-ma-for Studio of Small Film Forms created a television series using the cartoon animation technique. The first series of 13 episodes was titled The Strange World of Filemon the Cat. The second, 26-episode series was titled The Adventures of Filemon the Cat.
Individual episodes tell about the adventures of two cats - old, experienced Boniface, and Filemon - a small, naive cat, curious about the world. They both live in a country cottage with "Grandpa" and "Grandma".

The Łódź Bajkowa project, under which a family tourist trail is created around the city of Łódź, following the footsteps of small monuments depicting characters from children's series and films of the Se-ma-for Small Form Film Studio. Ultimately, "Łódź Bajkowa" will consist of 17 bronze sculptures. Ten monuments were erected between 2009 and 2018.

In Łódź, on the wall of a tenement house at Targowa 39, there is a mural honoring the writer and playwright Janusz Głowacki, who died in 2018.
The artist is Andrzej Pągowski.
The mural may no longer be as impressive as it was at first, the plaster is crumbling from the wall, but it is still worth seeing.

Historic Workers' House

Highlight • Historical Site

Workers' housing with utility rooms-storage sheds of the Joint-Stock Company Karol Wilhelm Scheibler Cotton Manufactories.

It is part of the Księży Młyn Estate. This is an estate of workers' housing built in stages between 1873-1875. The main core consists of 18 residential buildings, arranged in 3 rows of 6 houses each, along with utility buildings. The main avenue of the estate is closed by the building of the former school and the former company store (the so-called Konsumy). The building of the former fire station adjoins the estate from the west. The workers' estate is complemented by a group of residential buildings on Fabryczna Street and Przędzalniana Street. The entire complex is characterized by an unchanged, regular urban and communication layout with partially preserved cobblestone pavements. In the majority of the buildings, the external form has been preserved in its nineteenth-century guise. In most cases, the layout of the rooms in the workers' apartments has also remained unchanged.

The building was constructed between 1896 and 1902 according to the design by Feliks Nowicki.

The designer of the steel structures was engineer Walenty Dubeltowicz (1844–1913), the first director of the horse-drawn tram company in Warsaw (in the years 1881–1883), known primarily as the most experienced builder of steel bridges in the Kingdom of Poland. Besides this investment, he also collaborated on the construction of the municipal slaughterhouse in Warsaw.

Originally, the building was the headquarters of the management of the Joint-Stock Company of Municipal Slaughterhouses in Russia. After 1918, the slaughterhouse came under private management.
