Finstergrün Castle is the landmark of the municipality of Ramingstein, near Tamsweg, in Lungau.

The castle stands on a steep rocky outcrop. From the strategically located castle hill you have a wide view, so that there were visual connections to other castles. An important transport connection and a toll booth could also be monitored from here.
