Birch Forest on Eichenreinweg

Highlight • Forest

It is called Eichenreinweg, but it is definitely more characteristic of the dense, mysterious birch forest, reminiscent of northern countries, which you are approaching from the east!

In front of it rather flat, but dense vegetation, with ferns, grasses and small bushes ...

Very nice spot! In every season 👍

Mönchbruch Hunting Lodge

Highlight • Historical Site

The hunting lodge Mönchbruch was built by the landgrave Ernst-Ludwig von Hessen-Darmstadt around 1730 in the center of the Mönchbruch. It is located on the north side of today's B 486 in the middle between Mörfelden and the Rüsselsheim district of Haßloch.

Ernst-Ludwig was an enthusiastic hunter who introduced parforce hunting in Darmstadt in 1708. The Gießen master builder Colonel Helfrich Müller (1686–1759) drew the plans for the hunting lodge. In addition to six mansions, the entire ensemble included stables, coach houses and various outbuildings.

The Gerätehsbach flows through a large wet meadow area here. In the direction of flow, the Faulbruch is on the left and the equipment meadow is on the right. Paths do not lead through the meadow area.
