Hohfluh View Point

Highlight • Viewpoint

At 2227 meters, the Hohfluh offers a particularly impressive view of the Great Aletsch Glacier. From the platform, you can easily see the curved ice flows. An information pillar with "Gletschis Pfad" makes the stop exciting for families as well.

A beautiful hiking trail along the glacier moraine. Very lonely and many animal sightings as well as views of the glacier.

September 28, 2025,🇨🇭Riederalp, Aletschgletscher🇨🇭
From Riederalp, in glorious weather but still with plenty of snow, I made a steep climb to Rieder Furka. I continued along the ridge path up to Hohfluh, where I enjoyed a fantastic view of the Matterhorn and the Aletsch Glacier, amidst a deep snow-covered landscape. I continued along the panoramic path toward the Aletsch Glacier to Moosfluh. Then I …

Route completed on 07/08/2025 in 7 hours, including (many 😍) stops and unexpected events (🤔).

A superb hike to see the largest glacier in the Alps, as well as the Aletsch Forest.

FYI: drop off your car at the Mörel parking lot (200m from the cable car).
Then take the cable car to Riederalp.
Finally, a short walk to the …

Unfortunately, it was a week or two too late for the larches - most of the needles were already on the ground. Nevertheless, it was a spectacularly beautiful hike with a magnificent view of the Aletsch glacier. And since it was so late in the hiking season, it was almost deserted. ☺️

Despite suboptimal weather, we took the cable car up to the Moosfluh. The high trail was still an experience

This is my favorite round (2 times in summer and once in winter). Well prepared even in winter. A tip, take hiking sticks and spikes for your shoes.

From Leuk Stadt you can drive to the Bettmeralp ski area in an hour. In the Aletsch Arena, where you have 72 km of winter hiking trails. The routes on komoot are for seasons without snow so I used the piste map at the lifts. You also know immediately whether paths are open or closed due to too much snow.

Today everything was wrong. Fog up above, and the sun was shining in Goms ☀️.
