The three-country bridge (French Passerelle des Trois Pays), still called the Passerelle over the Rhine in the planning and construction phase, is the longest arched bridge for cyclists and pedestrians in the world. It connects the German city of Weil am Rhein in southern Baden and the French Huningue in Alsace. The name is derived from the border triangle Germany-France-Switzerland, which is less than 200 meters from the bridge. A Franco-German state treaty was specially signed before the bridge was built.

Istein Rapids

Highlight • River

The Isteiner thresholds are some natural rapids. In between there are beautiful gravel banks and beaches that invite you to take a bath break. But even if you do not jump into the water, it's worth stopping to admire the natural Rhine.

Viewing platform on the Rhine

Highlight • Viewpoint

The new viewing platform, which towers over the Rhine, invites you to linger on the wooden steps. The view of the river up and down is also very beautiful.

Very nice bike tour along the Rhine.
The paths were paved or gravelled and very easy to ride on. All in all, a great ride. Took a short loop through Basel and back again. My foot had to hold up.

After yesterday's rainy day, it stopped raining just in time for departure at 10 a.m. The gravel and sand paths on the banks of the Rhine were very soft, making it difficult to drive quickly. Otherwise, the trip along the Rhine is anything but varied. Only a few information boards and viewing platforms for the renaturation of the Rhine are …

Today I drove a new route through the pampas. Absolutely nothing is allowed to happen there, otherwise you'd be out of luck. But on the French side, there wasn't a soul in this thicket.

It was beautiful again. 😎

Today is the last day of our short vacation in Auggen. Yesterday we did a tour across the French border to Chalambe, unfortunately we didn't record the route, Komoot was in "deep standby" - why ever? It was about 39 km. But today was a beautiful day, lots of sun and an EKS in the restaurant at the small marina …

I'm so excited about this tour...
So many factors fit together perfectly...😉😄👍

One year after the first section of the Rhine Cycle Route (Andermatt to Basel), the continuation is to follow. We planned to travel to Basel by train again, but Mr. Weselsky and his GDL threw us a thick line through the bill. Fortunately, we (my son and I) were able to get hold of a rental car with which we …

The final stage of this year's multi-day bike tour 🚴🏻‍♂️🚴🏼‍♀️, covering 270 km on the Southern Black Forest Cycle Route 🌳🌲.

The first 10 km crossed two borders and through three countries. First, 6 km on the left bank of the Rhine through Switzerland 🇨🇭, then 3 km through France 🇨🇵, then onto the right bank of the Rhine into …

Unfortunately, I had to cancel the tour because of a flat tire and have someone pick me up by car 😭
