Blue Angels Sculptures on Ząbkowska Street

Highlight • Monument

4 little angels at ul. Ząbkowska 2, near the intersection with Targowa.

Blue Angels is a street art installation in Warsaw's Praga Północ district, created by Marek Sułek. The figurines made of epoxy resin appeared in 2010, and their aim is to promote the district and refer to the tradition of Praga chapels.

The Szejn and Tychoński tenement house is a four-storey building on Targowa Street in Praga-Północ, built in 1913–1914. Before World War II, it housed shops and the Foto “Star” photography studio. After the war, under Bierut’s decree, the tenement house became the property of the city. In the following decades, it lost some of its architectural details, and in the 1960s it was re-plastered. A characteristic element of the building is a turret with a spire, reconstructed in 2002. In 2001–2002, the elevation and interior were renovated. On the ground floor, there is the Ząbkowska Bar, operating since the 1950s.

Mural "Hole in the Whole"

Highlight • Monument

The mural "Hole in the Whole" was created in 2015 as part of the Street Art Doping festival, which regularly brings together artists from around the world to adorn Warsaw's walls with their works. This mural is particularly compelling for its optical illusion. Using multiple layers and contrasting colors—from white to purple—creates a depth effect that draws the viewer in. By creating the illusion of a "hole" in the wall, the artist forces passersby to consider what lies "on the other side." This isn't just a play of colors—it's a metaphor for carefree exploration, which the artist explains as a return to childhood curiosity. This makes "Hole in the Whole" more than just a painting—it's a portal to another reality.

E. Wedel Chocolate Factory Mural

Highlight • Monument

This mural is on the facade of the historic E. Wedel chocolate factory in the Praga district.
The artist is Andrzej Wieteszka, a Polish graphic artist known for his work in murals, illustration, and contemporary design.

With the recent opening of the Wedel Museum in the fall of 2024, this mural acts as a visual gateway to the world of chocolate, attracting visitors and adding cultural value to the Praga district.
The museum offers an interactive experience that allows visitors to learn about the chocolate-making process, from the selection and roasting of cocoa beans to the packaging of the final products.

Kamionkowski Cemetery, Warsaw

Highlight • Historical Site

The oldest cemetery in Warsaw, dating back to the 13th century. Unfortunately, no tombstones from this period have been preserved on its premises. The cemetery on the church grounds is in a somewhat deplorable condition. About 50 graves have survived, I counted slightly fewer. However, the facility is worth attention. You can easily enter the area, the graves are on the left side of the church and behind the church.

Bazar Różyckiego

Highlight • Historical Site

Różycki Bazaar, founded in 1882 by pharmacist Julian Różycki, is one of the oldest and most famous marketplaces in Warsaw, located on Targowa Street in Praga-Północ. Its history dates back to the times when Praga received city rights and the right to organize fairs in the 17th century. In the 19th century, thanks to the development of communication infrastructure, Praga became an important trade center. Różycki Bazaar developed dynamically, offering a variety of goods, and during the period of the Polish People's Republic it was also a place of trade in under-the-counter goods, stolen goods and foreign exchange trade. After 1989, its importance began to decline. Revitalization efforts were carried out since the 2000s, but the lack of agreement between the city and the heirs of the owner makes the future of the bazaar difficult. Part of the area has been placed under the protection of historical monuments, and currently vintage shops and garage sales are held there.
