We visited the former Westfalen mine in Ahlen and the Osthalde (Eastern Mine Heap).

Afterwards, I learned that the heap isn't even allowed to be entered. Officially, it's forbidden, but everyone does it. It's not obvious, there are no prohibition signs. 🤷🏻‍♀️
That also explained the almost overgrown paths on one side and the quiet on the other.
