Top section is smooth rolling even in winter. It soon deteriorates as the path points downwards, somewhat typically for the byways of the area.

I cleaned it on 35mm gravel tyres but certainly more volume is better in this case.

Love this ride, be careful on the decent after North Stoke and youll probably have to push yourself up the far side. And try not to hit the downhill after thr racecourse too hard in too light, because there are a few unexpected lumps.
