Ore mining was carried out here until 1902. The main mineral mined was pyrite (fool's gold).
Depending on the ore content (sulphur or iron), the water in the lakes turns yellow, purple or emerald green.
Beautiful to look at. Today, the Putpur Lake even serves as a backdrop for bridal photos🤩
