KTM Motohall

Mattighofen has had a special attraction since 2019 - the KTM Motohall. As the birthplace of the KTM brand, everything in Mattighofen revolves around powerful engines. The architecturally appealing building is a real eye-catcher, inside you can find out everything about the topic on three levels. Only the entrance fee is pretty steep at 11 euros.

Schwemmbach Wetlands

Highlight • Natural

The Schwemmbach is a small stream that flows through the Kobernausserwald in the Innviertel region of Upper Austria. It rises near the village of Munderfing and flows into the Mattig. The stream was formerly used to drift wood that was cut from the Kobernausserwald. The trunks were transported on the water until they were taken out of the creek at a collection point. Today the Schwemmbach is an idyllic place surrounded by forests, meadows and fields. The creek provides habitat for many animals such as fish, frogs, dragonflies and birds.
If you want to visit the Schwemmbach, you can take a nice hike or bike ride along the stream. There is a cycling and hiking trail called "Via Nova - Triftweg" that will bring you closer to the history and nature of the Schwemmbach. The path also leads you to a great bathing spot where you can refresh yourself in the clear water. The bathing area is near the village of Lengau and is accessible free of charge. You can also have a picnic there or just enjoy the peace and quiet.

This is an exciting museum dedicated to the life and legacy of Franz Winkelmeier, the greatest European who ever lived. 😊
The giant museum opened in April 2014 and is located at Lengauer Hauptstraße 22. The museum shows you different aspects of Franz Winkelmeier's biography, such as his childhood, his extraordinary growth, his travels and his early death. You can watch a short film and an audio station that will tell you more about its history. You can also admire many original objects from his personal possessions, such as his sofa, suitcase, size 59 shoes and other paraphernalia. You can also see a life-size doll in his original clothes and compare yourself to him. The museum also wants to give you a message of tolerance and respect for being different.
The giant museum is open every Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is €3 for adults and €1.50 for children. Groups are requested to register in advance by telephone on +43 (0) 664/59 78 310.
