Here, you still walk on the original surface from back then. You can still see the cross grooves that were cut to prevent the horses from slipping.

July 28, 2024,Lac de Kruth-Wildenstein mit Burgruine Schlossberg
Great hike around the Kruth Wildenstein reservoir. There are plenty of free parking spaces at the lake, and it's no problem finding a parking space on a Sunday in July when the weather is great. There are many options for a swim break around the lake. Only the restaurants seem to have been a little overwhelmed.

Unfortunately, the weather forecast and the real weather didn't quite match. But there is no such thing as bad weather, only inappropriate clothing - like today.
But no matter, the round was still nice and the detour up to the ruins was worth it.
I might have treated myself to a climbing park if it was dry.
If you want …

There is a steep climb to the castle ruins. Part of the way is the old access path to the castle. You can still see the wheel marks and …

Superb hike, lots of different landscapes between the lake, the castle, the waterfalls, some trails that even recall Provence.

The name "Bockloch" alone attracted us to hike this round - and it was worth it. The dam is currently being renovated and a temporary dam has been built in the lake. That allows interesting insights.
Since nothing was open at the lake, we then drove to the “Auberge Grieb” just a few kilometers away. Highly Recommended!
