This beautiful lake is right next to the Pilatusbahn station. It flows into the 4-Waldstättersee. A nice place to rest a bit after Pilate's adventure.

Beautiful hike from Stansstad.
The return trip from Alpnachstad by boat is highly recommended.
Extending the hike from Alpnachstad to Stansstad is not "snug". Lots of traffic and there are a lot of cyclists on the jetty.
