Lake Wildensee

A perfect Alpine idyll: sparkling water, spruce and larch trees on the far shore, and the gray peaks of the Karwendel Mountains beyond. A hiker's heart, what more could you want?

We went on a circular hike there today; it was very peaceful, with a fantastic panoramic view of the mountains all around in sunny weather. The lake was frozen. What more could you want? 🌞🏔️

Lake Luttensee

Highlight • Lake

On the four-lakes circuit, you can hike to all the lakes around the Kranzberg. When the sun is shining, they are perfect for a refreshing swim. The view from the Hoher Kranzberg into the Karwendel, the Wetterstein Mountains and the Ester Mountains is unique. We recommend a detour to the Ederkanzel, where you have one foot in Bavaria and the other in Austria and have wonderful views of the Leutasch and the Scharnitz valley. It is not necessary to hike there on a Wednesday, as the Ederkanzel is closed then. On the way back, we recommend visiting the beautiful Maria Königin chapel on the Lautersee and hiking back through the idyllic Lsintal to Mittenwald.
