View of Padstow and the Camel Estuary

Highlight • Viewpoint

The tidal estuary feels just like the ocean, especially when the tide is out and you can stop for a bite to eat on the little beaches. From here you can look across to Padstow and Gun Point. There is a ferry service between Rock and Padstow, should you want to go and explore more.

Daymer Bay Beach

Highlight • Trail

Daymer Bay is a great swimming beach at high tide. It has no waves but is fairly shallow for a long way out. If you fancy a leisurely swim or would like to train in the sea, this is a great spot to swim. There are sand dunes for the kids too. It has a pay and display car park right on the beach. However, car access to this beach can be problematic in busy times as it is a single track road.

Greenaway Beach

Highlight • Viewpoint

Breakaway beach is a secluded beach with great rockpools. At spring low tide the main rock pool closest to the sea is an excellent place for snorkelling. I have spotted small and large fish, huge array of crab including a dinner plate size spider crab, squid, weaver fish, and a diverse assortment of seaweed.

With soft and golden sands, clean and calm waters, a laid-back surfer vibe, and beauty in every direction, Polzeath Beach is a great place for relaxation, swimming and having fun. Awarded the Blue Flag status, the beach is one of the safest for swimming and learning to surf and has lifeguard cover.
