Visible from afar in the Murtal, the Mugel is the local mountain of the Leoben and Niklasdorfers. The Mugel-Schutzhaus is also a base for many long-distance hikers. In any case, the view from the mountain is terrific!

Mugel Mountain Hut

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Wonderful hiking trails, fitness-sapping mountain bike tours and popular ski routes lead to the Mugel. In addition to the futuristic-looking summit cross, there is also the ÖTK's Mugelschutzhaus, surrounded by green forests and a wonderful view of the Murtal valley.

Great tour in the best weather and very good food on the Mugel. Simply 🔝😁

The path from Silberbründl to Roßeck is not accessible to low-shoe tourists and “normal” hikers. It is heavily overgrown, has crevices that are difficult to see, goes over a sloping slippery heap of earth (a large uprooted tree destroyed the path) and is generally difficult to walk on.
P.S.
We didn't always stay on the path because we were hunting. …

Beautiful hike in Styria on my local mountain. 95% through the forest and always beautiful viewpoints. The terrain has flatter and steeper sections and is also suitable for family hikes. On this circular route there are two summit crosses and also two huts with very good snacks and drinks at really reasonable prices...

After a few days of bad weather, we used the first tolerable day for a brisk 2-peak local mountain tour. The cows are still up to mischief and have become a bit intrusive, but a loud call stopped them from making closer contact!

A rainy snowy tour, but still great 😊. We encountered a black grouse and a deer 😁 and enjoyed cheese spaetzle and a pork sausage at the mountain hut.

Since there was thick fog in the valley in the morning, we decided to escape to higher altitudes. The snow situation isn't great all around, and there are certainly masses of people on the upholstery, so we set off, once again, on our local mountain.
