Always nice to see when the Weser flows so slowly.

Along the Liebenauer pits, it is worthwhile to get off the bike and take a look at the nature reserve. Along the shore and v.a. Hundreds of birds frolic on the small island. A great place for birdspotting (binoculars provided)!

For me personally, this point was important because I haven't continued in this direction yet.

A pedestrian bridge opened in 2000, connecting Nienburg's city center with the western bank of the Weser River. It was built on the site of the first Nienburg Weser Bridge.

Nienburg Market Square

Highlight • Settlement

Definitely worth taking a break in Nienburg on the Weser cycle path. The market square is really idyllic, but the rest of the town is also worth seeing.

May 12, 2025,Einmal die Weser runter nach Nienburg und andere Seite zurück nach Landesbergen 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️🐕
On the tour to Nienburg, we cycled to the midpoint or "mountain festival" of the Weser Cycle Route in Estorf in the Scheunenviertel district. On the other side of the Weser River, the Weser Cycle Route was being rebuilt over a long stretch, and the bikes practically ran by themselves.🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️🐕‍🦺

Very interesting garden with Mediterranean plants. Someone must have a large greenhouse for the many plants in winter and a lot of fun.

Nice coffee break halfway there.
In Nienburg another walk through the old town with a coffee.

From Nienburg in sunny and cool temperatures it was mainly on low-traffic routes through the natural landscape of the Weser floodplains past the numerous gravel pits to Stolzenau and then east of the Weser back to the starting point in a northerly direction.

This morning I decided to drive to Nienburg again. To the right of the Weser and back on the other side. I had to take the old Weser bridge, the pedestrian bridge is closed for renovation. Then on the way to Liebenau there is work on the road (Weser cycle path) but I managed to sneak through. Otherwise a relaxed …

Parking in Nieburg, e.g. the paid Wesavi parking lot by the pool. It would have been better to use the free Festwiese parking lot 300 meters away.

Nice little tour to the left and right of the Weser with some highlights.

Today we started in Landesbergen and drove to Nienburg to the asparagus market. Great tour, but the cycle paths were a bit dirty with lumps of clay from the fields because everything was still so wet.

In bright sunshine 🌞 I grabbed my bike 🚴‍♂️, put it in the car 🚗 and off we went to Leese 🏘. This is where the actual tour started, which was always within striking distance of the Weser 🏞. The stations to be departed from included:
