The Hohe Liebe is one of the rather smaller peaks in Saxon Switzerland. Naturally, Hohe Liebe also lives up to its name: the view is pure romance. A circular route over the summit is worthwhile. On the summit there is a small memorial in honor of the mountaineers who died in Saxon Switzerland.

"There is a mountaineering memorial at the summit of the Hohe Liebe, which commemorates mountaineers who fell in the First World War. Over 400 of the 800 members of the Saxon Mountaineering Association (SBB) died in the First World War. Shortly after the end of the war, the SBB called a committee to establish it a memorial to fallen mountaineers in life, headed by the well-known mountaineer and first climber of the locomotive raid, Albert Kunze, the Dresden architect and mountaineer Oskar Pusch was the consultant for the design, designed by Franz Beyer, a Dresden sculptor and mountaineers On October 17, 1920 the memorial was inaugurated with a speech by Rudolf Fehrmann.

The memorial made of sandstone bears two bronze plaques with the inscriptions "The fallen mountain climbers 1914 to 1918" and "Our dead mountain friends". In 1947 the inscription, which was then no longer considered to be up-to-date, was changed, and in 1990 the previous condition was restored.

On Sunday of the Dead, climbers meet every year to commemorate their dead. In the meantime, it is no longer just a case of fallen mountaineers, but of all mountaineers who have died and died in mountain accidents. I really have to say, I'm starting to be appalled at how human respect goes! Would you eat at the devotional in the cemetery? I think spider, on the Sunday of the Dead, several very clever people must have used the view for a picnic ... The eggshells and the like are right next to the memorial borders and in front of it, bravo.
And then there are the super smart ones among the annual visitors - who is the PLEASANTLY pimped up AND makes love locks on the circlips ?! 😱😡😤
