The walk from the parking lot of the Lichtenhainer waterfall is always uphill and if you open your eyes, you will discover a lot of interesting things.

Both for hiking and climbing, the cowshed offers plenty. It is an extremely rewarding hike with a wonderful view of the Kleine Zschand and over to the monkey stones. There is an impressive rock gate, which you can reach on the right side (viewing direction Gasthaus) over the Himmelsleiter. The inn provides food and drink. There are trails that are easy to walk - but not barrier-free - and demanding trails that require sure-footedness. There is something here for every Saxon Switzerland lover. The worthwhile climbing routes are around the cowshed mainly in the area VII to VIII of the Saxon climbing scale.

The ascent to a rocky plateau with a great view leads over the Himmelsleiter (to reach it you have to go through the Kuhstall), the descent via usual wooden stairs. If you do not trust the sky ladder (because the steps are free, ie support on the walls, crash possibilities but also if you miss it) or if you want to climb high with small children and / or dogs, you can also climb 'back around'. It definitely worth it :)
