    The Turmberg is a multi-phase fortification. In the east, the ridge crosses a 200 m long, 20 m wide to 5 m high section wall, which is preceded by a shallow ditch. This wall turns into a ring wall, which covers an area of ​​14 hectares and has a gate in the west, north and northeast. The northeastern gate is additionally secured by two small ramparts and therefore seems to have been the main entrance.
    This oldest fortification, which was originally a four-meter-wide stone wall with wooden columns ('post-slotted wall'), was probably built during the Early La Tène period (5th century BC). The mighty section wall was probably built in Ottonian time (10th century AD).
    Within the large Iron Age ring wall rises the summit plateau of the mountain with a two-piece 1-acre fortification. In the middle of the SW flank is the gate, the alley of which is guarded by a small rampart running across the slopes. Further protection was provided by a tower whose square foundation has been preserved in the north. Excavations near the gate revealed three stages of construction, probably dating back to Carolingian-Ottonian times (8th / 9th century AD).
    The northeast corner of the summit plateau was separated in the high Middle Ages by a section fortification from the southwestern area. Close to the southeastern escarpment, the gate to this youngest castle seems to be lying. On the basis of the keep, the Magnus Tower was built in 1498 as a signal tower.
