The Temple of Aeolus stood on the rock dedicated to the wind god Aeolus, accessible only via two rock bridges. The temple collapsed during a severe thunderstorm in 1830.

The stairs leading up to the top are dilapidated and are now closed.

The almost 2 km hike through the Sanspareil rock garden is more like a walk. But the way there is definitely worth it, because there are numerous rock formations, caves and grottos on this short stretch. In addition, there is Zwernitz Castle directly in front of it, as well as an Oriental building with a park. So there is plenty to see and admire, so that you can stay here for a few hours. The caves and bizarre rock formations are a great adventure, especially for children.

"Margrave Carl Alexander of Ansbach-Bayreuth had the Temple of Aeolus built on the rock dedicated to the wind deity Aiolos (Roman Aeolus), which could only be reached via two rock bridges." (Wikipedia)

This breathtaking bridge is no longer passable due to the risk of collapse. However, like many other buildings and rock formations, it is "sans pareil" (French: without equal) :)
