Wonderful restaurant a bit out of the way, half up on the mountain. Good food: salads, meat dishes, pasta or pizza, everything is great. The owner is always very accommodating and friendly. And the view over the sea is a good accompaniment to the meal. Highly recommended.

Pianellu is a wonderful village with very welcoming inhabitants. Particularly, I recommend this gîte, the cooking is amazing and tue view is stunning overlooking the sea from the mountains…

Go at the village square towards the church. At the top is a hidden, phenomenal vantage point. Unfortunately we drove over here for 10 years.

Walk at the church quite high, 23 ° slope. Above is a platform. There you will be rewarded with a phenomenal view over the valley and out to sea with the islands of Elba and Montecritso.

The bridge over the Busso was the turning point of our bike ride around the reservoir into the Valle d'Alesani. Coming from Chiatra we drove clockwise on the narrow, small road (D17) to Novale and then crossed to Ortale. The return trip down we let the wheels roll happily on valley on the clear wide road. It is highly recommended to drive the route so, because the poor condition of the small road is to enjoy the hilltop rather than downhill.

The village is picturesquely situated on the mountain saddle and offers an open view over the reservoir and further into the Valle d'Alesani. You can also make a hike from here to and around the local mountain, which, as it is upstream as Randberg, offers a wide view over the coastal plain to the sea. And of course always in the valley and across the lake.

Departure to the coast (D17), Canale di Verde to Alistro or after 3 km left to the reservoir (D 517), from there back up to Cotone and back to Cervioni.

Here you can decide if you want to completely hike the eight, or you are satisfied with a zero. In any case, ideal for a rest, you have in almost all directions beautiful views and the clearing in the scrubland offers good seating.
