The Europaeck is located at Weißenburgstraße 36, in the immediate vicinity of Metzstraße. It houses the office of MEP Delara Burkhardt (SPD). The name "Europaeck" alludes to the office's European focus and serves as a contact point for citizens seeking information about European politics or contact with the MEP. The area around Metzstraße and the Europaeck is part of Kiel's so-called "French Quarter." Well, the wooden bridge can be made to swing, but it still holds. Under the bridge there is a hiding place (cash box) for geocaching.

In 2024 it is foreseeable that the wooden bridge will no longer stand for long; its monostilts are seriously rotten.

Since it is broken on one side and is secured with a construction fence, a sign warns when entering: "Enter at your own risk! ⚠️" Today the floodplain had a lot of water, so that the adjacent reed/meadow areas were flooded!!
