The Stollberg is in the district of North Friesland at 43.4 meters above sea level after the Sandesberg near Ostenfeld (Husum) (53.3 meters), the Uwe-Düne in the municipality of Kampen on Sylt (50.2 meters), the Glockenberg (50, 4 meters) between the communities of Hude/Fresendelf and the Rantzauhöhe within the Langenberg south of the community of Leck (North Friesland) (44.8 meters) the fifth highest elevation in the district. The Stollberg - a part of the western Geest ridge - developed as a so-called old moraine during the Saale Ice Age and was finally formed during the Vistula Ice Age in particular. From here you have a good view of the landscape of the near and far surroundings. The mountain, which belongs to the municipality of Bordelum, is located directly on the federal highway 5. Near the mountain is the Stollberg spring, which was considered sacred in earlier times. In April 2002, the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry for the Environment, Nature and Forestry declared the area in this area a nature experience area.
