The Kalmit is located near Maikammer in the Southern Wine Route district of Rhineland-Palatinate. At 673.64 meters above sea level, it is the highest mountain in the Palatinate Forest. From up here, you have breathtaking views of the Rhine plain, the Odenwald forest, and even the Black Forest. Simply amazing 🤩👌🏼. There's also a rest hut up here where you can enjoy delicious food 😋👍🏼.

Bernd Baumann has donated a boulder fountain to the public in the Alsterweiler Tälchen. It was handed over on October 15, 2017. Every year, the bar of Kredenburg owner Bernd Baumann from Maikammer opens in July. The bar is run by volunteers from the "Obere Friedhofstrasse Family Circle". The profits are donated annually to public community work. The owner attaches great importance to the fact that the proceeds are used for good causes. This year, the boulder fountain was handed over to the community. The boulder was expertly worked by a friend, the stonemason Johannes Baumann. The fountain now bears a kind of Bacchus face with the inscription "Alsterweiler Fountain".

A sea of rocks. Very close to the Kalmit summit there are numerous sandstone rocks of different shapes over about a kilometer. Some of them are up to ten meters high.

Beautiful and runnable trail through pine forest on the way to Kalmit. You could almost think that after the next bend you would arrive at the sea.
